 ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute 

 A Transformative Opportunity for UC Merced Undergraduate Students

UC Merced’s Office of the Chancellor, in collaboration with the Division of Equity, Justice, and Inclusive Excellence (EJIE) and in partnership with the Bright Success Center, Undergraduate Research Opportunity Center (UROC), and the Office of Leadership, Service, and Career, is proud to sponsor student participation in the HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute.

 

This prestigious three-day leadership and career development symposium will take place November 1–3, 2025, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado. The institute brings together over 800 undergraduate students from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Through dynamic workshops, keynote presentations, networking events, and interactive sessions, students gain valuable insights into career pathways, professional skills, and leadership development. The conference also provides unparalleled access to recruiters from federal agencies, corporations, universities, and nonprofits, opening doors to internships, research opportunities, and graduate programs.

 

Sponsorship Details:

Ten UC Merced undergraduate students will be selected for sponsorship, which includes group travel coordination covering:

  • *Conference Registration

  • *Flights

  • *Hotel accommodations

  • *Meals and incidentals


Sponsored students will have the opportunity to connect with peers from diverse backgrounds, enhance their professional growth, and represent UC Merced on a national stage. If you are eager to strengthen your leadership skills, explore career opportunities, and build lasting professional networks, this is an experience you won’t want to miss! As a Hispanic Serving Institution(HSI), all UCM undergraduate students who meet the application requirements are encouraged to apply!

 

 

Application Requirements:

To be considered for sponsorship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be an enrolled junior or senior at UC Merced in Fall of 2025

  2. Be in good academic standing

  3. Provide a current resume or CV

  4. Submit a 3 min. video response explaining why you are interested in this opportunity

  5. Have participated in at least one of the following nationally recognized high-impact experiential learning opportunities (past or current) throughout their undergraduate studies at UC Merced:

  • *Undergraduate research
  • *Internships
  • *Study abroad
  • *Service learning/community-based learning
  • *Capstone projects
  • *Leadership programs
  • *Living learning communities (LLC)
  • *Student employment
  • *Held a leadership position in a campus student organization
