Training Undergraduates in Stem Cell 
Engineering and Biology (TUSCEB) 

2023-24 Application

NOTE: There is no 'Save and Continue'. However, if you wish to begin your application but not finish in one sitting, use the same computer/device without deleting your cookies to continue where you left off. 

The following materials are needed to complete the TUSCUB 2023-24 application:
  1. "Submit" an Online Application 
  2. One letter of support
    • Attach a written letter of recommendation on letterhead (pdf)
  3. UC Merced & Transfer College Unofficial transcripts
  4. Responses to two statement prompts: 
    • Diversity Statement: 
      • The process of discovery best advances when people from various backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives come together. How do you see yourself contributing to the diversity of UC Merced’s Training Undergraduates in Stem Cell Engineering and Biology (TUSCEB) program? (Max 600 words)
    • Personal Statement: 
      • Part 1: Please highlight your academic preparation and motivation; interests, specializations, and career goals; and fit for pursuing UC Merced’s Training Undergraduates in Stem Cell Engineering and Biology (TUSCEB) program? (Max 600 words, combined part 1 & 2.)
      • Part 2: The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience? (Max 600 words, combined part 1 & 2.)
