The goal of the Undergraduate Research in the Humanities (UROC-H) program is to engage promising undergraduate students each year in faculty-mentored research during the summer and prepare them for advanced education in the humanities and humanistic social sciences.
OPEN CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
Faculty-Led UROC-H Research Cluster
Deadline to Submit: February 15th, 2025
You may focus on either a team-based approach to a project or on a research theme. Research clusters should be focused on humanities research methods and in line with the following definition:
Please note: Faculty are not required to submit this application if they anticipate working with only one UROC-H student. Students select a faculty cluster to work with or identify a Faculty Mentor they will be working 1:1 with after they are admitted to UROC-H. All students must submit their own applications directly to UROC, whether applying to work 1:1 with a faculty member or as part of a research cluster.
UROC-H will Offer Faculty:
- Opportunities to work 1:1 with an undergraduate student or lead a research cluster of 2+ students (each student will be fully funded as a summer RA) throughout the 9-week SURI from June 2nd- August 1st, 2025
- Opportunities to engage and integrate community partners or public humanities projects in your research
- $500 in research funds per UROC-H student mentored
We encourage you to forward this application link to any undergraduate students you think would be a good fit to join your proposed Research Cluster. Only students who submit a UROC application can be considered for funding or acceptance into the UROC-H Program.
UROC-H does not guarantee that all proposed Faculty-led Research Clusters will be accepted. The matching process between Faculty-led Research Clusters and UROC-H undergraduate scholars is primarily based on the student’s research interests, as we want our research scholars to not only have access to participate in research but be enthusiastically engaged in the process.
