Thank you for being interested in participating in this survey.

The aim of this study is to help us better understand Kern County residents’ interests in high road economic development.

Kern High Road Coalition is part of the California Workforce Development Board’s High Road Training Partnership, which is funded through California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health, and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.

As part of the Kern High Road Coalition, this study is being led by the UC Merced Community and Labor Center, under the direction of Edward Flores, Associate Professor of Sociology, in collaboration with Kern Community College District, and the Center on Race, Poverty & the Environment, a local non-profit organization.

For this study, we are conducting a 10-minute survey with about 2,100 Kern County residents. The questions will ask about you, your household, and your community, workforce development and the environment.

The information that you provide will help us better inform policies to improve Kern County residents' well-being.

There are no anticipated major risks or discomforts from participating in this study.

We want to assure you that we will protect your identity by not be asking your name or any other information that can be used to identify you. The information you provide will be held by researchers at the University of California, Merced in a secure location. We will not share you answers with anyone outside our research team.
